Thank You for another Successful

Love Your Park Day

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to the November Love Your Park day. Your work helps keep Schuylkill River Park beautiful by helping us plant, weed, and generally keep the park in wonderful shape.

Energetic volunteers planted an extensive native pollinator garden in the stretch of open space next to the all-purpose court. The garden features flowering perennials and grasses that support native bees, butterflies, and other insects, as well as the local and migratory birds that feed on them. Be on the lookout next spring for a burst of new life!

Many thanks to The Philadelphia School’s Green and Healthy Committee for the garden’s design and our access to plant material. And thank you to CCRA for including the garden in its under-40 initiatives funded by Pennsylvania State Sen. Ben Waxman.

If you are knowledgeable about native plants, and would like to help maintain the garden, please contact: Susan at susan.v.kahn@gmail.com.

Party in the Park

Thank you for making Party in the Park such a huge success. It was truly a night to remember, filled with dinner, dancing, drinks, and amazing live music from our neighborhood band, The Panamaniacs.

Thank you to all the neighbors, vendors and sponsors who made this possible, and the biggest thank you of all to the Parks and Rec team who encouraged and supported this plan.

We have received so much positive feedback about the party that we hope it's the first of many. If you would like to help plan the next one, please email us at fsrporg@gmail.com.
